About freegoldprice.org

A Fresh Start—Same Golden Vision

In 2025 freegoldprice.org launched as a brand-new service inspired by the legendary DGCSC gold-price project. We did not purchase DGCSC’s databases or code; instead, we built an entirely new infrastructure from the ground up. Our mission, however, stays true to the spirit of the original pioneers: make live precious-metal prices simple to integrate and affordable for everyone—no paywalls, no gimmicks.

What Came Before

  • DGCSC’s legacy (2001 – 2025): For almost a quarter-century the DGCSC site provided free XML & JSON spot-price snapshots of gold and silver, updating every 30–40 seconds.
  • A community success story: When smartphone apps began flooding the feed in 2011, DGCSC introduced nominal “hit” payments to curb bandwidth and keep the doors open.

Their journey proved that open, low-cost market data can thrive—and that formed the blueprint for our new venture.

What We’re Building Now

  1. Clean-slate infrastructure. New servers, new codebase, no inherited data-quality baggage.
  2. Open, familiar formats. We still deliver prices in simple JSON & XML so existing tools can switch with minimal friction.
  3. Broader coverage. Gold and silver today; additional metals, currencies and longer historical ranges coming soon.
  4. Radical transparency. We publish our data sources, filtering logic and latency metrics so you can judge quality yourself.

Accuracy & Limitations

Each API response is a snapshot of a fast-moving market. Because our feed refreshes roughly every 60 seconds, sudden intraday swings can slip between updates or appear only at their extremes. When two services disagree slightly, it usually reflects these differing timestamps, not an error in the data itself. If you need millisecond-level precision, exchange-grade feeds remain the right choice.

The prices and market data on freegoldprice.org are provided for information only and do not constitute investment advice. We don’t sell the prices themselves—just the server “hits” that let you access them.

Using these figures is entirely at your own risk. The feed isn’t calibrated for mission-critical finance apps, algorithmic trading, or any setting where absolute price precision is required.

Although we work hard to keep everything accurate, current, and complete, we can’t promise perfection. We therefore accept no responsibility or liability for any losses or other damages that may result from using—or trusting—the data.

Pricing—Your Choice

  • Booster Packages (one-time top-ups). Perfect for a product launch, hackathon or seasonal traffic burst. Buy a fixed pool of “hits”; they sit in your account until you’ve used them—no expiry, no auto-renewal.
  • Affordable Monthly Plans. Ideal for dashboards, research desks or embedded widgets that need steady traffic. Pay a predictable fee, receive a fresh hit quota every month, scale or cancel whenever you like.

A permanent free tier remains for hobbyists, educators and anyone who just wants to watch the market tick.

Our Promise

We may be a new business, but the ethos is timeless: open, low-cost access to precious-metal prices for the next generation of builders, analysts and enthusiasts.
